IT­TRANS – a successful premiere and promising preconditions for the second edition

The specialist conference and exhibition on IT solutions for public transport offers an international information and communication platform for the industry. In recent years, public transport has had to face numerous challenges. Owing to this development, IT­TRANS was established as a meeting point for stakeholders in the public transport sector in order to ensure that IT technologies and products are fully developed and exploited to guarantee a modern, efficient and attractive public transport.

In 2008 more than 800 visitors from 41 nations attended IT­TRANS, amongst them 400 conference delegates. Over 80 exhibitors from 20 countries participated in the premiere of IT­TRANS

The survey amongst IT­TRANS’s conference delegates and exhibition visitors has made it very clear: More than 90 per cent of all attendees rated their participation in the first edition as highly beneficial. The conference of IT­TRANS offered them a stimulating array of ideas for their daily business and the future of their transport networks.

Given the unanimous support of all partners involved, the number of conference and exhibition delegates is expected to further increase in 2010. IT­TRANS in Karlsruhe is an ideal communication platform which has been established as an acknowledged center of the IT industry in public transport worldwide.
